Sustainability

Longitude 131° collaborates with various Aboriginal arts communities to procure vibrant local artworks displayed throughout the lodge. The camp was meticulously planned to minimize its impact on the delicate natural environment, with tents ingeniously designed to 'float' above the ground. These tents prioritize energy efficiency, incorporating features for enhanced thermal and acoustic insulation. The floors are insulated and adorned with natural stone to optimize cooling in summer and insulation in winter. The property adheres to a no-single-use-plastic policy and employs biodegradable cleaning products. Solar panels contribute to the lodge's energy supply, specifically heating water for hot showers. A comprehensive set of measures has been implemented to safeguard the unique environmental and cultural heritage of the area.
