In Conversation with Geordie Mackay Lewis

Co-Founder and CEO

To mark B Corp Month, we sat down with Geordie Mackay Lewis to discuss what it means to be a B Corporation and how it shapes the way we do business.

As a certified B Corporation, we’re part of a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact, ensuring that every journey we create has a positive impact. From conservation efforts to carbon reduction, we’re constantly evolving to push the boundaries of responsible travel.

Here, Geordie shares insights on our B Corp journey, what set us apart, and how businesses can take steps toward a more sustainable future.

What does being a certified B Corporation mean to you and your team?

It represents our unwavering commitment to responsible business practices, ensuring that our operations create a positive impact on people, the planet, and our broader industry. It is a testament to our dedication to sustainability, ethical leadership, and continuous innovation in delivering exceptional experiences with minimal environmental impact.

What key qualities allowed us to become a certified B Corporation?

Our work through the Pelorus Foundation was critical in demonstrating our ability to protect, preserve and promote wild places and wildlife. Our support of local communities to enable this work was also key. In addition our efforts to tackle the carbon crisis through our Climate Investment Fund and the community projects that supports was also an important factor.

Describe your B Corp Journey in three Words

Purposeful. Transformative. Inspiring.

How has becoming a B Corp certified company changed the way you do business?

Achieving B Corp certification has deepened our focus on sustainability and accountability at every level of our business. It has reinforced our commitment to responsible sourcing, ethical partnerships, and reducing our environmental footprint, all while enhancing our service offerings. Additionally, it has empowered us to lead by example, inspiring both our clients and industry peers to prioritise sustainability in their own operations.

What advice would you give a business wanting to improve their sustainability efforts?

Start with measurable, meaningful changes that align with your core values and business model. Sustainability is not just about reducing harm - it’s about creating long-term value for both the environment and society. Engage your stakeholders, track your progress rigorously, and embrace transparency. Small, consistent steps will lead to significant impact over time.
