Udaipur

Arriving at the City of Lakes, your first stop is the Palace, located peacefully on the banks of Lake Pichola and renowned as the largest complex in Rajasthan. Wander through the marble and granite halls in complete privacy, before taking part in a special experience where you will witness Jal Sanjhi, the sacred art of painting on water, an exclusive art form kept alive by just one family in Udaipur. Afterwards, take a walk in the old city with your guide. Sharing space with cows, elephants and people, gain an interesting insight into lifestyles of the communities in “small-town India”. Gaze upon the detailed folk art decorating the walls of houses and the small architectural gems of the latticed haveli windows. Head out as a family to explore the city limits on two wheels. An early morning biking tour will see you avoiding the busy roads as you uncover a beautiful part of the city, rarely visited by tourists. Cycling past the three lakes west of Udaipur town, you will follow your guide on a specially selected route that takes you through nearby villages, farms, and rolling hills.

Jodhpur

Your private jet seamlessly transports you to Jodhpur, where you will hop aboard a tuk-tuk and be whisked away to Mehrangarh Fort, just in time for the morning light. Gain insider access to this formidable citadel, perched on a rocky outcrop looming over the city, as the curator of the museum guides you on a private tour. Continue through the back gate for a walk through the Old City, known for its many, blue-painted houses. Inside is a tangle of winding medieval streets scented by incense, roses, and sewers, with shops and bazaars selling everything from trumpets and temple decorations to saris and Jodhpur’s famous glass bangles. Here, a treasure hunt awaits, presenting a fun and engaging challenge for the whole family.

Ajabgarh

Arriving in the early evening, visit the nearby Barakhambi Temple for evening prayers or aarti. The next morning, head out on horseback on a rare Marwari breed to experience life in rural Rajasthan. On your horse-riding adventure, stop to enjoy a cup of chai with a local family, as you are welcomed as an honoured guest to their village. Explore the splendid medieval site of the Bhangarh Fort, enjoying a fantastic picnic lunch set up just for you. In the late afternoon, head out on an open jeep tour into the surrounding villages, known as the “cowdust” tour, as this is the time of day when the cows come home from the fields, throwing up dust into the air against the sunset – a magical hour.
