Design

Originally a 16th century hunting lodge, White Deer has been transformed by wonderful owners, Stefano and Giorgia. Step inside to vaulted ceilings, wood and stone structures decorated with antique artefacts. An air of elegance wafts through the stylish interiors where a delightful authentic touch remains. Making you feel entirely at home, the lodge is home to a snug library, fully-equipped kitchen and comfortable sofas – ideal to relax, read and savour the tranquil environment. Open fires cast warming hues throughout, encouraging a feeling of cosiness amidst the fresh, alpine setting.

Enjoy a rustic bedroom boasting lovely, wooden structures, soft bed linen and atmospheric lighting. With every detail hand-made specifically for this lodge, a charming personal touch is noticed around each corner. Whether you overlook woodland or the valley, each room provides a bright, peaceful hideaway that’s entirely your own. Venture to the impressive wine cellar to enjoy exceptional food carefully created by the chef, Giorgia. Using locally sourced ingredients, meals are of an excellent quality and entirely flexible upon requests. With no menu or repeated recipes, prepare for an exciting and fresh gastronomic surprise. With a passion for wines, Stefano will pair your meal with a superb, regional wine from his fantastic collection of 1,500 bottles from South Tyrol and beyond.

Sustainability

White Deer Mountain Lodge operates a private farm with cows dedicated to supplying the lodge with milk and butter, fostering a farm-to-table culinary culture. The lodge prioritizes the use of locally sourced ingredients, ensuring freshness and supporting local agricultural practices. Additionally, the drinking water provided at the lodge is sourced from mountain springs, contributing to the commitment to natural and pure resources.

"Staying at White Deer Mountain Lodge felt like being welcomed into a warm Italian home and invited to experience what local life is like. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the restoration of the lodge itself right through to the daily activities in which everyone is encouraged to participate.

My days were spent learning to cook authentic regional Italian dishes, collecting wood in the surrounding forest and visiting local cheesemakers, and even trying my hand at a round of golf on the unique private course mere steps from my cosy bedroom.

Each morning and evening were spent soaking in the spectacular views of the Dolomites, accompanied by the thought that there was truly nowhere better than this for a breath of fresh mountain air."
