Sustainability
Operates an environmental programme where social engagement supports local schools, hospitals, and charities such as Sharjah Charity International. Built with sustainability in mind, Six Senses Zighy Bay helps to fund and participate in health, social and educational projects. One environmental project is the creation of a marine protected area on Musandam Peninsula and the mainland.
All of the waste generated from the resort is converted into compost. In 2018, this process reduced the amount of waste going to the local landfill by 80%. The resort team also organises monthly beach clean-ups and the diving hosts ensure the removal of nets from the ocean bed.
Sponsor programs and activities are in place which enhance women’s equality – Dibba women’s association is an example of the support the resort provides to boost women’s contribution to the local community.
