Porto

Start your journey in the centre of Porto, most renowned for its centuries-old tradition of crafting port, as you meet with your private guide to explore the bustling city streets. Diverse in architecture, you will discover the city's contrasting design, from colourful and rustic cobblestoned streets to modern structures and contemporary art.

Experience the city’s vibrant gastronomic scene with a visit to the charming Capela Incomum Port Wine Cellar where you will learn about the history of port before enjoying a private tasting. By kicking-off your experience in Porto, you’ll gain a great understanding of Portuguese culture and will be perfectly prepped to hit the open road and embark on your epic motorbiking adventure.

Douro Valley

Head into the heart of the Douro Valley, crisscrossing the landscape of the Marão Mountains on a cross-country hiking and trail running expedition. You’ll hit off-road trails and enjoy stunning vistas of rolling vineyards, valleys and rivers. Or, for those who want to get straight into the two-wheeled action, an epic 75-mile ride awaits. Before your trip, our Travel Designers will have gathered your personal preferences which have been used to create bespoke biking gear for your trip, which will be waiting for you. Accompanied by your expert biking guide, don your new attire and head off the beaten track to Armamar, Tbuaço and São João da Pesqueira on some of Portugal’s most beautiful roads, zigzagging through scenic villages and hidden vineyards.

After an adventure through the vine-littered hills, it’s time to reward your journey's end by sampling the very fruits of labour that gave the Douro Valley its UNESCO World Heritage recognition. You’ll stop off at an abandoned winery where your host will prepare a local feast on an open-flame fire. Joined by a local winemaker who will personally select the wines to pair with your lunch, discover the history behind the Douro Valley whilst tasting the grapes that have shaped its impeccable reputation.

Rising early the next morning, your two-wheel adventures will continue with an epic gravel biking route to give you a different perspective of the Douro and its valley. Taking things down a notch in the afternoon, embark on a peaceful boat trip in a vintage port barge along the magnificent Douro River. Stop to swim along the way, and sample more of the region’s finest wines as you sit back and relax.

Alentejo

Moving further south, you’ll explore Alentejo and some of the best roads in Portugal. A helicopter will whisk you from your property to Penhas Douradas, where your bikes will be waiting for you. A spectacular ride awaits, with far-reaching vistas at every turn. Wild and rugged, the Serra da Estrela offers an off-the-beaten-track experience like no other and a true immersion in nature. On arrival in Covilhã, enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch before you board your heli, which has been relocated and refuelled, and continue the journey to your next property.

Spend an evening under the stars as you are treated to an immersive stargazing experience above Alqueva Lake, with a world-renowned Portuguese astrophotographer. The lack of light pollution has justifiably rendered this as an incredible starlight tourism destination, and this evening is sure to be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before.

Your next day in Alentejo kicks off with an 85-mile cruise through some of the most incredible roads in Alentejo, through Redondo, Alandroal and Estremoz. Along the way, you’ll stop for a well-deserved coffee at a 13th-century castle. Imagine sipping your coffee and soaking in the stunning views of the surrounding vineyards, steeped in history and natural beauty. This is just a taste of what awaits you on this unforgettable journey through Alentejo.

Refuel at Amphora Winery for a special wine tasting that spotlights the Vinho de Talha process – a tradition that is now hard to find but that results in a unique taste and almost earthy undertone. A wild cooking experience concludes this extraordinary day and is the perfect spot to share stories and memories of your experience so far.

Lisbon

Following your countryside exploration, get ready to delve into the excitement and faster pace of the capital city. A helicopter ride above the dramatic countryside will whisk you to historic Lisbon: your final destination for your last two days in Portugal. From downtown Lisbon, through the Jewish Heritage and up into the picturesque hills, discover the city’s intriguing past, visit unique art galleries, and walk the sloping streets. Wander the maze of cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins and white-domed cathedrals alongside an expert local guide who will point out often-overlooked areas and hidden gems.

And it’s here in Lisbon where your Portuguese odyssey comes to its conclusion. The sights, sounds, smells, and experiences you’ve gathered on the open road will all come together as you discover the hidden layers of Lisbon, leaving you with an unforgettable understanding of Portuguese culture and a newfound appreciation for the vibrant energy that courses through this historic city.
