About Pelorus Travel

Pelorus was founded by former British Army captains and adventurers, Geordie Mackay-Lewis and Jimmy Carroll, with a belief that travel should transform our perspectives on the world. 

We craft highly bespoke, boundary-pushing journeys that go far beyond conventional luxury. Our trips are designed from scratch so no two trips are ever the same.

A pelorus is a navigational instrument that charts direction without a preset path - much like our ethos. We don’t follow templates. Every journey is created from scratch, guided by your interests, helping you explore undiscovered horizons. 

 

Booking with us

  1. We begin with a discovery call to get to know you, your interests and travel aspirations.

  1. Our team creates and presents a set of highly bespoke concepts, each tailored to your interests.

  1. Together, we refine and work on a final concept. Once confirmed, we begin detailed planning covering logistics and full risk assessments.

  1. Ahead of your departure, you will receive a personalised travel pack containing your bespoke itinerary and all essential information.

  1. Throughout your journey, and upon your return, we are available for any support, feedback and follow up.

We recommend beginning the planning process at least 6–8 months in advance, particularly for complex or remote trips. This timeframe allows us to secure rare access, whether that is a private charter, an exclusive lodge, or a seasonal experience available only at certain times of year. For some destinations, especially those with limited capacity or high demand, up to 12 months may be required.

That said, should you wish to travel sooner, our team can act with precision and discretion to design and deliver an extraordinary experience within a shorter timeframe. 

There is no fixed minimum trip length, and our trips typically start from £40,000 per person (based on 2 people for 7 nights, excluding flights).

Yes, your personal travel designer remains on hand throughout your journey, alongside our trusted in-country guide or expert. We monitor all logistics and local conditions from departure to your return, ensuring as seamless journey.
