Together with local craftsmen, Borana was constructed by the Dyer family who operate the lodge and conservancy today. Whilst respecting its wilderness surroundings, the entire lodge was built using local materials to radiate a rustic style throughout. Etched into the hillside and Borana’s well-kept gardens lies charming thatched stone cottages, each very different from the next. Oozing an authentic African feel, interior subtle tones reflect their natural surroundings creating an inviting ambience. Coloured fabrics brighten the furniture and spacious en-suite bathrooms provide fabulous vistas. Observe an array of excellent wildlife from a private deck overlooking the hillside and busy waterhole below. After dusk, the open fireplace will be lit providing a warm, glowing room to return to after dinner.
