Situated at the end of the stunning Sunnfjord, Åmot (meaning ‘where the two rivers meet’) is an elegant homage to the past. Surrounded by luscious pastures and towering peaks, the Åmot Estate has been in the same family since 1885, being loved and cared for by five generations of the Sørli family.

Accommodation

Those staying in the three-suite original Villa, dating from 1980, can expect opulence which reflects the beauty of the surrounding landscape. There’s the Garden Suite with a bedroom and cosy seating area, the Rollaug Suite with an elegant sitting room and grand dining room, and the Oline Suite with a charming living room.

 Or, stay in the eight-person Cottage. Dating from the 1820s, this charming guesthouse features two suites and four bedrooms.

There’s also the Barn, which originally housed great grandfather Søren’s Norwegian Fjord horses at the turn of the nineteenth century. Here you can find the main kitchen, the living room and the yoga room, as well as the two-bedroom Stable Suite with a bathroom, a small living area and a kitchenette.

Dining

At Åmot, dining is more than just a meal—it's an immersive experience showcasing the best organic local product. Join the chef on one of his many foraging, baking, or cooking classes to learn about Norwegian food culture and explore the delightful flavours of Sunnfjord. Åmot also has a close partnership with BARE Restaurant, the first and only Michelin-starred restaurant in Bergen, and this modern Nordic culinary concept puts the region's organic produce at the forefront.
