After arriving in Longyearbyen and settling into your lodge, the adventure begins in earnest. Meet your expert local guide for a full equipment briefing, before setting out on snowmobiles through the vast icy landscapes fanning out from town, crossing glacial terrain deeper into the Arctic interior. Over the days to come, you'll push further east, traversing the large inland ice cap that divides Svalbard's coasts until you arrive deep in the heart of polar bear country. Out here, the nearest road is hours behind you. The nearest town, further still. The silence is total. The scale, overwhelming.
