Location

Situated in the heart of Athens within walking distance of exclusive shopping areas and museums, Hotel Grande Bretagne enjoys the ideal location in the city centre. This eight-storey 19th-century building exudes grandeur from the outside, and inside it’s no different: from the stained-glass ceiling and potted palms to the 18th-century tapestry in the bar and the antiques peppered all around. While exuding a sense of bygone grandeur, there is nothing old-fashioned about Hotel Grande Bretagne, thanks to an extensive makeover which brought the property well into the 21st century.

Design

There are 320 luxurious and well-appointed rooms, divided into categories from Classic all the way to Presidential and Royal Suite. The Classic rooms overlook the atrium and ooze vintage chic with antiques, gilt-edged lamps, cream and gold drapes and marble bathrooms. Opting for the Presidential Suite gets you all of this incredible luxury and more, with a private pool overlooking the Acropolis.

Amenities

The service is impeccable, and you won't find a hotel in central Athens with better facilities; there is an excellent spa, hair and nail salons, and an outdoor pool (open to guests from April to October). There are four restaurants to choose from, but the Roof Garden Restaurant undeniably has the best views, while the Winter Garden is renowned for its afternoon high tea.
