Archery & Zurig Dzong

Rise as dawn warms the sky and make a pilgrimage to Gangtey Monastery for morning prayers.

Under the tutelage of an ex-Olympian, you’ll learn the kingdom’s national sport of archery. After innumerable bulls-eyes, embark on a white-water rafting adventure along the Punak River passing through a lush, untouched valley before arriving at the 17th-century Wandue Phodrang Dzong fortress.

Fly up over the Dochu la Pass, taking in the stunning mountain scenery, before landing in the highlands to meet the Gasa. During this cultural immersion with these semi-nomadic yak herders, you’ll sit down with them and taste some of their local cuisine. Afterwards, trek through the valley and stop at Zurig Dzong for the incredible view as you take in the palace, the valley, and the looming mountains in the distance.
