Most creative trip planned

One of the most creative trips I’ve designed has to be a festive family journey to São Tomé and Príncipe. The family wanted somewhere completely off the radar, so I crafted an itinerary that took them to the most pristine parts of the island. The highlight was creating a private camp for them on New Year’s Eve, set up in an incredibly remote spot overlooking an untouched beach. With freshly prepared food, including the fish they had caught that day, and no one else for miles, it was the ultimate way to welcome the New Year - and a perfect example of how we can push boundaries at Pelorus.

Trip to Norway

Number one unforgettable travel experience?

Surfacing from a dive in Sri Lanka to be told that there were blue whales cruising around further out to sea. Trundling along in a tiny wooden boat next to these colossal creatures was truly humbling. Words cannot describe their gargantuan size or mezmerising grace.

Top of your travel bucket list?

There is a national park in central China called Zhangjiajie which boasts hundreds of towering quartzite-sandstone pillars. It looks incredible and I believe it was featured in the film Avatar. If not China, then I would love to see the gorillas in Rwanda.

Who is your ultimate travel partner?

Paul Nicklen would be amazing to travel with. A celebrated photographer and marine biologist, hearing his stories of close wildlife encounters and his knowledge of the environment would be fascinating. Plus, it's always handy to have a professional photographer close by to get some great travel pics.
