Design

Barraco Lodge was loving restored from an old 1940s style colonial house into the hotel that sits here today. With many of the traditional features still intact, the wooden interior retains the authentic character of a Chilean outpost of regional architecture. Built in harmony with its natural surroundings, the lodge rests peacefully within the forest and the interior further compliments its heritage with South American textiles, woven carpets and wooden beams throughout.

Cuisine

Mealtimes are a family occasion, dining around a beautiful long wooden table under a wooden beamed ceiling with views over the verdant conifers. Chef Maite is an extraordinary host, using the produce from the organic vegetable garden as well as regional delicacies to whip up authentic fare such as lamb, king crab, native wild mushrooms (Morchelas) working within the seasons and paired with exemplary local wines. She also has a special recipe for Pico sours featuring local Ulmo honey which make the perfect sundowner.
