Sustainability
All structures are constructed using Finnish wood, a traditional, sustainable, and renewable material. To mitigate the impact on the forest floor, the buildings are erected in locations away from their final destination and then transported onto stilts. Green roofs aid in controlling urban runoff and reintroduce a substantial amount of vegetation equivalent to the building's footprint during construction. Additionally, 5,000 to 10,000 new seedlings are planted annually in the surrounding forests. Efforts are made to enhance the carbon footprint by measuring and improving sustainable energy and water-saving solutions. Waste reduction is managed, and geothermal energy is utilized. Furthermore, the use of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients minimizes food waste.
