About Pelorus Travel

Pelorus was founded by former British Army capitains and adventurers, Geordie Mackay-Lewis and Jimmy  Carroll, who believe travel should transform perspectives. 

We craft highly personalized, boundary-pushing journeys that go far beyond conventional luxury. By leveraging our global network of local experts, remote lodges, yachts, and aircraft, we deliver seamless, immersive travel that can’t be found elsewhere.

A pelorus is a navigational instrument that charts direction without a preset path - much like our ethos. We don’t follow templates. Every journey is created from scratch, guided by your interests, helping you explore undiscovered horizons. 

 

Booking with us

  1. We begin with a discovery call to get to know you, your interests and travel aspirations 

  1. Our team creates and presents a set of highly personalized concepts, each tailored to your interests 

  1. Together, we refine and work on a final concept. Once confirmed, we begin detailed planning covering logistics and full risk assessments 

  1. Ahead of your departure, you will receive a personalized travel pack containing your tailored itinerary and all essential information 

  1. Throughout your journey, and upon your return, we are available for any support, feedback and follow up

We recommend starting at least 4-6 months in advance, particularly for complex or remote journeys. This allows us to secure rare access and exceptional options, especially for private charters, exclusive lodges and seasonal experiences.  

That said, we can accommodate shorter lead times depending on destination and scope. If you are looking to travel sooner, we can move with precision and discretion to make it happen.

  • Trips start from $50,000 per person

Yes, your personal travel designer remains on hand throughout your journey, alongside our trusted in-country guide or expert.  We monitor all logistics and local conditions from departure to your return, ensuring as seamless journey. 

In some instances, an extremely complex or large trip will require an initial planning fee to help us secure rare experiences and accommodation especially if traveling during peak vacation season. 

As every trip is unique, cancellation terms vary by component (charters, permits, hotels). We'll share a detailed policy tailored to your itinerary, balancing flexibility with supplier commitments.
