Location

The Merrion, located on the south side of Dublin city, is the capital’s most luxurious hotel. Just a few minutes’ walk from galleries, museums, the Dublin Convention Center, pubs, restaurants and the shops of Grafton Street, the hotel is perfectly situated. While at the heart of the busy commercial and business districts, the feeling is one of a cheerful, bustling town center, and Dublin is renowned for being especially walkable, making this an excellent base from which to explore.

Design

An impeccable restoration of four Georgian townhouses, this 142-bedroom and suite hotel is as welcoming as it is stylish. Marrying exquisite comfort and relaxed elegance throughout, each of the luxurious rooms in the contemporary Garden Wing either look out over the beautifully landscaped gardens to the rear of the hotel or have Dublin street views. In the Main House, the rooms and suites feature delicate rococo plasterwork by master stuccodore Robert West, and vaulted ceilings and original marble fireplaces are just some of the features waiting behind the elegant doors.

For drinks, head to The Cellar Bar, set in the original 18th century wine vaults of the Main House or visit the intimate cocktail bar, No. 23. During the spring and summer months, sit out and enjoy the tranquility of the Garden Terrace, while the Drawing Rooms, with their open log fires, are perfect for afternoon tea at any time of year.
