Happy House

To begin your Nepali adventure, fly by helicopter up into the Himalayan foothills, taking in spectacular vistas of the mountains towering below you. Arrive in Phaplu and check-in to the exclusive Happy House, once home to Sir Edmund Hillary. As you settle into your new serene surroundings, enjoy a traditional Sherpa lunch served in the garden with stunning views across the Himalayas.

Ratnange Ridge

Hike up to the Ratnange ridge, passing ancient monasteries and following hidden forest trails, until you reach your home for the night. A traditional ger camp set up exclusively for you in a secluded spot where you will be able to watch the sun setting over the majestic Himalayan range and sleep under the stars surrounded only by the tranquil sounds of nature.

Everest Base Camp

Following a mountain view breakfast, you will walk down from Ratnange through a Rhododendron forest back to the Happy House. From Happy House, you will be picked by a helicopter and take a scenic flight to Everest Base Camp, nestled at the bottom of the imposing Khumbu Icefall at 5,380 meters above sea level. You will have approximately ten minutes to explore and take a few photographs before it will be time to take off again to get down to thicker air. From the helicopter, you will experience an epic view of the vast mountains before landing in Kongde for lunch a beautiful close-up view of Mount Everest and its neighbors as your backdrop.

Mustang

Discover the ancient walled city of Mustang, a region secluded amongst the mountains and an independent country until just a few decades ago. Lying in the shadows of the Himalayan mountains, Mustang is a vast valley of colorful canyons and arid deserts. Pelorus has gained exclusive access to this hidden kingdom of which only a privileged minority can access. Trek to this mystical kingdom as you travel through mesmerizing landscapes, beautiful monasteries, and local villages, discovering culture and history that is unknown to most. Visit monasteries atop desolate ridges and drink tea amongst welcoming locals in charming villages.

Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge

There are few places in the world that the majestic tiger roams as wild and free as they do at the Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge in the Chitwan National Park. Explore the beauty of this jungle region as you embark upon a Nepalese safari, setting out in jeeps alongside an experienced naturalist searching for the elusive wild tigers. Traverse through forest and grassland as dusk, to catch a glimpse of these great cats as they set out on their hunt and patrol their territories. By evening, delight in a traditional feast around a bonfire as you exchange stories from your first wildlife experience.

 

Narayani River

After breakfast beneath the mango trees, prepare to embark on a private safari on the Narayani River. Sitting inside a hand-crafted boat, keep your eyes peeled for a variety of birdlife and wildlife including the gharial crocodile and its more sinister relative, the marsh mugger. This afternoon, set out on foot through jungle paths as you get closer to the wildlife in their natural habitats. By sunset, return to the Narayani river on foot as you walk alongside the lodge’s resident elephants. Arriving at the river, enjoy sundowners whilst you watch the elephants bathe and frolic in the shimmering waters. This evening before dinner, you will be treated to a traditional Nepali dance performance characterized by brightly colored costumes and infectious rhythms.
