SOUL AND CEREMONY IN THE SACRED VALLEY

Your journey begins in the Sacred Valley at the ancient site of Pisac, home to the only remaining Inca sun dial outside of Machu Picchu. Explore its temples and terraces, before visiting the lively Calca market, the stalls overflowing with local produce, herbs, and flowers, offering a vivid glimpse into everyday village life that has continued for centuries. This evening, settle in at your luxury mountain retreat for a series of traditional energy rituals, enjoying a welcoming sound bath and some well-deserved rest.

Set off for Ollantaytambo, one of the Andes’ most sacred sites, before heading to Lake Huaypo for a gentle yoga session and a paddleboard across the water. Take part in a Pago a la Tierra - a sacred gratitude offering to Pachamama, guided by a shaman, and delight in a delicious Pachamanca lunch on the shores of the lake - an ancestral feast where the meal is baked over hot stones, offering nourishment in both body and spirit. This afternoon, set out on a guided hike to explore the Sacred Valley, visiting hidden trails known only to the locals. MYTH IN MACHU PICCHU AND CULTURE IN CUSCO

With major celebrations taking place in June for Inti Raymi and the Winter Solstice, and again for the Spring Equinox in September, Cusco’s energy and vibrancy provides the perfect backdrop for festive celebrations. Wander through local markets, dine in time-honored kitchens or take part in a textile or ceramic workshop led by accomplished artisans. Visit Huasao, a town south of Cusco famous for its shamanic traditions, discovering the region’s more intimate side as you visit a local shaman’s home for a personal coca leaf reading.

CAMPING AND COSMOLOGY IN POMACANCHI

Hiking along a scenic mountain route, you will pass through the peaceful Andean village of Mosoc Llaqta, walking through its square and picturesque streets along an ancient water channel until you reach Pampamarca Lake. Continuing by mountain or e-bike, pass through the charming community of Acopia until you reach Pomacanchi, the largest lake in the area.

Along the shores of Pomacanchi, a luxury tented camp has been set up just for you, where a hot shower and relaxing massage await, before you gather around the fire under the starry skies for a fascinating introduction to Andean cosmology. Rising early, feel the sun’s warmth as you cross the lake from shore to shore in sea expedition kayaks, while local fishermen teach you to catch fish species such as huitas, carachis, and carp. Once on the other side, hop into your waiting vehicle to reach your next destination, the giant red rock canyon, Tinajani. 

TEMPLES, TOWERS, AND TRAILS IN TINAJANI

Known as "The Canyon of the Guardians," myths tell of ancient giants that were turned to stone by the gods, now watching over this mystical landscape as towering boulders. Rich in history and an almost otherworldly natural grandeur, this corner of the Andes is sure to leave you with a profound sense of awe.

Explore the landscapes around Tinajani Canyon, venturing into the vast Puya de Raimondi forest. Hike or e-bike along winding dirt trails, leading to a valley where thousands of towering puyas, resembling huge cactuses, rise over the highlands. Stroll through the town square to visit the Church of San Francisco de Asís, one of the country’s most remarkable churches, built on the foundations of an ancient Inca temple. This evening, gaze up at the night sky as an astronomer points out the constellations and the patterns of the stars, explaining the effect of this on the Andean worldview along with the significance of the sun and moon, and how they guide the life and traditions of many people to this day.

LOCAL LIFE AND LUPACA LEGENDS IN LAKE TITICACA

Leaving the canyon behind, make your way to the great Lake Titicaca, believed to be the birthplace of the Incas. Watch as a shaman performs a powerful ceremonial thanksgiving, paying respect to the Pachamama and the Apus, the mountain spirits. Head out by boat to explore the floating islands and meet with the Uro-Aymara community, known as the “people of the lake,” who use totora plants to build homes, fishing boats and the very islands on which they live. Continue to Taquile Island, watching as the locals practice their weaving skills, before heading back out onto the lake by kayak, paddleboard or sailboat.

Your final day is spent visiting Molloco, a sacred Inca and Lupaca site, and the enigmatic Aramu Muru, also known as the Wilka Uta portal. This is a deeply spiritual pre-Incan energetic location, hidden away amongst striking rock formations. The centerpiece of Aramu Muru is a massive stone with a human-sized rectangular frame, believed to be a dimensional portal – a gateway between the physical and spiritual worlds. Ascend the rocks as the sun sets, gazing out over Lake Titicaca and the Andes as you celebrate the end of your transformative journey across Peru.
