WORDS FROM JIMMY
"It's been four years since I last took on a major challenge—rowing across the Atlantic—and I’ve really missed having something to focus on physically. This marathon is a completely different challenge for me, especially after the recent diagnosis with my spine, and having limited time to prepare. But that’s what motivates me—it’s tough, but it’s about pushing limits.
Mental health is a big part of why I take on these challenges. They always take me outdoors, into natural environments, which has been a key motivator for me. While the New York Marathon will be my first challenge in an urban landscape, I have been lucky to do some of my training in some amazing places including Iceland, Norway and across the US.
The Pelorus Foundation plays a huge role in this journey, and it’s one of my biggest motivations for taking on the marathon. The Foundation is central to everything we do at Pelorus, and through it, we support incredible projects focused on conservation, community engagement, and environmental cleanup. The opportunity to raise funds for these initiatives is deeply meaningful to me, and it aligns perfectly with our mission at Pelorus: to create bespoke experiences for our clients while leaving a lasting, positive impact on the planet."
