Location

Adare Manor is one of Ireland’s premier destinations, in the heart of the beautiful County Limerick. With a legacy that dates back over 300 years, this grand estate blends historical elegance with modern luxury. Surrounded by lush landscapes and set amidst 840 acres of parkland along the banks of the River Maigue, a favorite with local fishermen. Adare Manor offers a truly unique escape for those seeking a refined, luxurious experience in Ireland. This is a fantastic base from which to explore Cork, Killarney, and The Cliffs of Moher, with Shannon Airport about 40 minutes by car, and Limerick City a short 20-minute drive away.

Design

With original art, Georgian-style furnishings and marble bathrooms throughout, the rooms at Adare Manor combine historic charm with modern comforts, essential ingredients for a stylish and sophisticated stay. From the Dunraven Staterooms, which have 753 square feet of space, to the Signature Suites that come complete with a personal butler and feature views over the River Maigue, as well as the golf course, the room choices are all of an exceptional standard. Relax in the surrounding of the spa at Adare Manor, a light-filled oasis centred around a 26-foot pool and relaxation area beneath a vaulted skylight with many of the design elements inspired by the folklore of Ireland’s forests.

Activities

Designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio, the 18-hole championship Adare Manor Golf Course is set against rolling Limerick hills and the River Maigue. A world-class golfing destination, the course is home for the 2027 Ryder Cup. Though play may be restricted as the Ryder Cup approaches, four other trophy courses, Ballybunion, Tralee, Doonbeg, and Lahinch are an easy drive or minutes by helicopter. Alongside the many golfing options, there are a variety of outdoor pursuits to enjoy, including woodland walks, cycling, horse riding, fishing, archery, clay pigeon shooting, and falconry.

Dining

Naturally there is world-class dining at the Oak Room, a Michelin-starred restaurant with seasonal tasting menus made with the finest Irish ingredients. The Gallery, lined with ancient Flemish choir stalls, provides another stunning setting for a memorable breakfast experience.  For a more informal meal the Carriage House overlooks the gardens, and the Tack Room bar has simple nibbles. But maybe Adare’s greatest delight is the village at the Manor gates with three excellent restaurants and three great pubs.

Why we love it

Whether enjoying world-class golf, indulging in gourmet dining, or unwinding in serene surroundings, every moment spent here is an experience to treasure. The picturesque surroundings, including the charming Adare village, provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation and tranquillity, with a ruined castle, ancient abbeys and pretty, thatched cottages setting a delightful and quintessential Irish scene.
