Design

Uncover quaint weatherboard bungalows scattered throughout the luscious resort grounds. Whether your bungalow faces the beach, garden, sea or pool, each offers an enchanting escape and an idyllic place to reconnect with nature. Step into a wonderfully simplistic interior with immaculate white walls, grey window frames, cream curtains and gorgeous local artwork decorating the room. Exuding a beachy atmosphere, unwind on the private veranda from the comfort of a daybed and soak up the dreamy sounds of birdsong and waves lapping the shore. In a matter of steps you’ll discover appealing ocean-facing ‘chill-out’ areas where hammocks sway from the trees and driftwood furniture create a social atmosphere. Enjoy the luxury of kayaks, paddleboards and snorkeling gear on hand to satisfy your adventurous desires.

Central to the resort is a salt-washed bridge, linking the island to the mini islet of Ilheu Bom Bom. Here lies the outstanding restaurant boasting a menu that’s simple, delicious and African. The talented culinary team creates local delicacies and international options using many ingredients grown from Principe’s soils. At low tide and for special occasions, indulge in a memorable dining experience with your feet in the sand as the tables spread on to the beach. Nestled amongst verdant greenery with hypnotic vistas lies the soothing Bom Bom Spa. Entirely sustainable, organic treatments are inspired by island produce such as mango, coffee and cacao.

Why we love it

Journey to Principe Island between September and April for an unforgettable wildlife experience. Witness the spawning and hatching of beautiful sea turtles, learn about the creatures and the crucial conservation of this threatened species.

Sustainability

Visiting the sea turtles at Praia Grande consequently supports the Principe Trust. The proceeds generated help develop community projects and nature conservation on the island. A Water and Recycling project was launched by the Principe Island World Biosphere Reserve in 2013. Plastic reduction and waste reduction awareness contributes to the environmental education of Principe’s inhabitants and visitors.
