Location

East Coast Ice Camp is located in the heart of the Arctic, accessible only by snowmobile. With Svalbard's frozen landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see, countless species call this environment home, including polar bears, Arctic foxes, seals, reindeer, and walruses. The camp is designed exclusively for groups of up to six guests and has a minimal footprint. The tents can be positioned in a range of locations and are transported by snowmobile to each site. Specially engineered for structural integrity, they are built to withstand the harsh Arctic conditions, ensuring a comfortable stay in Norway's northernmost outpost.

Activities

With East Coast Ice Camp as your base, a wealth of extraordinary experiences awaits. Chase the Northern Lights by snowmobile into the depths of this magical landscape, or don snowshoes to explore trails otherwise inaccessible on foot, learning from local experts who return to this region year after year. Spend an afternoon ski touring across untouched terrain before glacier walking among vast ice formations. Svalbard's glaciers are unique, receding for years before suddenly advancing, creating spectacular ice formations and crevasses. Visit historic sites including Pyramiden, a now-abandoned Russian town, and learn about the explorers who dedicated their lives to the discovery of Svalbard and beyond to the North Pole.

Why we love it

This is no ordinary camp. Designed by experienced Arctic and Antarctic expedition experts, it balances expedition-grade functionality with exceptional comfort, proving that even in one of the world's most remote environments, luxury need not be left behind. With separate sleeping quarters and bathrooms, a fully catered kitchen, a wood-fired hot tub, and full heating and electricity, you'll return from each day in the wilderness to a warm and welcoming retreat.
